A Little About Us

Fillmore Fire Department proudly protects 1720 people living in an area of 18 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status.

The department received a Homeland Security Grant in 2005 in the amount of $88,778. Funds will be used to replace outdated SCBA's and to purchase a compressor to fill these.

Our firefighters have been trained for RIT (Rapid Intervention Team). The purpose if RIT is to provide rapid rescue to firefighting crews operating at an emergency scene. You can learn more about the Washington County RIT program at http://www.slingerfd.com/rit/index.htm

The Department would like to know if there are any residents in our district with special needs. This will aid us in assiting you in a time of crisis. Please notify us via e-mail from the "Contact Me" page, or call Chief Jeff Steinert at 692-9434.
